SERVICES
For the last 20 plus years, I have been designing projects
for companies large and small from dynamic data-driven websites
to interactive applications to Web 2.0 user-contributed, social
networking sites. From 2011 to 2018, I worked with
Rocket Software as a user experience design engineer. This website
will be updated soon to reflect that work.
INFO ABOUT THIS WEBSITE
Most items in the PORTFOLIO are
a selection from the last 8 or 10 years with a few exceptions.
The RESUME covers
most notable projects over the last 15 or so years.
Note: I designed and developed this website, along with my painting
website, and a more comprehensive work website.
PERSONAL PROJECT AND INFORMATION
For a peek at a personal project that I am still passionate
about, see Blowpipes and Bulldozers.
For a bit of my long-standing philosophy regarding work, art,
and life choices, see A
Force for Good.
Besides having an abiding interest in design and art,
I enjoy being in the great outdoors hiking, snorkeling and boogie
boarding in warm waters, doing yoga, meditating, catching
live concerts with some favorite bands, doing some gardening,
and watching independent films.
BACKGROUND
I started my career as an enthusiastic gypsy in grade school
who loved art, music, dodge ball, and numbers. These
interests moved organically over time into graduating with a
B.S. in Mathematics with minors in Art and Sociology at
Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
For a number of years, I worked as a systems analyst and programmer,
doing artwork and playing music on the side. Then in the early
days of interactive multimedia, I realized that at last I could
combine my artistic and technological interests in one place.
I created a demo stack in Hypercard, sent it to Apple, and started
working with them at their seminal Multimedia Lab. A lot of the
juicy stuff was starting to happen then through work with Apple,
and through the WELL, the first notable online community.
